About King Tut's Wah Wah Hut

King Tut's Wah Wah Hut is Scotland's most mythologised venue — a 300-capacity basement club on St Vincent Street that has launched more careers than any other room in the country. Opened in 1990, it made history on 31 May 1993 when a then-unknown Manchester band called Oasis crashed a gig they hadn't been booked for. Creation Records boss Alan McGee was in the audience and signed them on the spot. That night — arguably the most significant in British music of the decade — happened right here. Since then, almost every major British and Irish act has graced its low stage on the way up.
